Blue Shell

This is one of my first linocut prints from a printmaking class. I quite liked cutting the tiles and trying to find a balance between representing texture as well as light and shade. Considering the negative spaces was quite a shift in thinking for me and making sure the registration was correct was really tricky with a large class and two printing presses.  I like the boldness of the design, but in future, I think I will use ink on acetate to get a similar effect. We just don’t have the space for a press!
